A Daily Routine or a Daily Trap?
Okay, tell me your daily routine.
You wake up. Eat, Work, Sleep. Right?
Okay now, ask your father his daily routine.
He does the same, right?
Now look at the people around you—Your neighbour, your friend, your colleague…
Same, right? Wake up, Rush to work or college, Come back, Eat, Sleep.
This is what most of us are doing.
Every single day.
Functioning, Not Living
This is what the reality is. We’re not living, we’re functioning.
Have you ever sometimes paused and wonder are we even thinking anymore, or are we just running on autopilot?
A Glimpse Into the Commute
I often travel to college by metro.
And every morning, without fail, I see the same thing— A metro packed to its core.
People squished shoulder to shoulder, barely any space to breathe.
It’s office timings.
That specific window of time where everyone is rushing.
To reach somewhere, To prove something.
To keep up with something.
Where Are We All Heading?
I sometimes look around and wonder—
Are we all going to different places,
or are we all just heading toward the same thing: burnout?
The expressions on people’s faces say it all. Blank. Tired. Mechanical, Eyes glued to phone screens.
Some catching up on sleep.
Some are already replying to office emails.
No one smiling. No one talking. Just moving.
And this isn’t just one day—
This is every day.
The Never-Ending Cycle
This is the rat race.
We’re not living our lives. We’re just passing through them.
Waking up, rushing, working, sleeping—
on repeat.
Not questioning, not pausing.
Just surviving, not living.
Time to Reflect
We’ve become so used to this cycle
that we’ve forgotten what it feels like to truly be.
Maybe it’s time we ask ourselves:
Is this all there is? Or is there more to life than just running?
The Cost of the Race
Because at this pace,
we might win the race,
but lose ourselves along the way.
